I have returned with my Makeup Crush Monday series. I'm not sure I will be doing it every Monday, but I will try my best. Teehee.
So this Monday, I'm featuring the Benefit Dandelion blush.
This is the softest prettiest pink ever. I think it is so lovely and can be used every day. It's a buildable color with just a hint of shimmer. It comes with a bristle brush that makes it easy to sweep it on your cheeks.
This blush can be purchased at Ulta for $28. It is a little pricey but sooo worth it. If you're going to splurge on a blush, this should be it. You can also purchase it at Sephora or at the benefit website directly. I'm lucky enough to have an actual benefit store here in Chicago. It's one of my happy places. Heehee.
I have a medium complexion and this is how it looks on me. I'm pretty satisfied with this blush.
If you follow me on Instagram, if you don't, tsk tsk, follow me @missgeeklychic you know that a few weeks ago I received my mirrored vanity. I ordered it from Art Van. I am so happy with it. Just about everyone whose anyone has the Pier1 Hayworth collection mirrored vanity. I desperately wanted it but it's ridiculously expensive, and you pay separately for each piece. The vanity table, the mirrored, and the chair/stool. I went to Pier1 to see it in person and I'm glad I did. I actually didn't really like it. For the price it looked pretty cheap and a bad paint job. For all three pieces it was over a grand, yeah not gonna happen. Anywho, I went to ArtVan to purchase bedroom furniture and found this vanity.
I'm loving it! It's not as wide as the vanity from Pier1 but it's just what I need and fits perfectly in the little space in my room. The best part...all three pieces...wait for it...$300! Yes, $300 and no, that wasn't a sale price. I had the store associate check and to make sure it was in fact for all three pieces, table, mirror, and chair, it did! So I did my 30 second happy dance in the store and bought it. Once it came I just couldn't wait to fill it with all my makeup! Teehee! Here's s sneak peek at what's on my vanity.
I'm Really loving these Rimmel London Moisture Renew lipsticks. They are so creamy and go on very smoothly. 190 Rose Blush, a pretty pink color. 500 Diva Red, a beautiful red color, great for those hot date nights. 360 As You Want Victoria is a pretty fuchsia like color. Mind you I have a medium color skin tone. So the lipsticks may look a little different on you. These Rimmel London lipsticks are perfect. I'm very happy with them and highly recommend them.
Have you tried the RIMMEL London moisture Lipsticks?
I wanted to do a review on the Tarte Rain forest After Dark palette. This palette was limited addition and unfortunately i don't believe it is still available in stores. I believe you can find it on eBay.
This palette is made with Tarte's signature clay. It has six eyeshadows and a blush, highlight and bronzer. If you love browns and neutrals, this palette is for you. So gorgeous and the colors are safe for every day wear. I don't like to wear, what some people would call, scandalous eye shadow colors on a daily basis. I usually play it safe during the week because I work in a hospital and well there is a certain level of decorum and it may not be professional. At least for the role I have, different positions in a hospital, you can get away with certain looks. For me, I just would rather not.
Anywhoo back to my main topic here, did I mention I like to stray off topic, please be patient with me, teehee. This palette is so gorgeous and I just can't get over it. Not to mention the packaging is so stinking cute. I have not seen anything like it before, and i'm a sucker for cute packaging. So they had me at first glance. Teehee.
Below I have a close up of the eyeshadow colors, unfortunately i wasn't able to swatch it because the lighting was getting bad in the bedroom.
If your lucky enough to get this palette i really hope you enjoy it as much as I am.
Hello Dolls, As promised here is my review on the Urban Decay ELECTRIC palette.
This palette along with the UD Naked 3, was a gift from my handsome boyfriend, David. He called me and told me he was on his way home from the court house, after paying a ticket. There was a Sephora in the area and he asked me what I would like from there. Needless to say I was so happy and very shocking by this lovely jester of his.
Any who This palette is amazingly beautiful. The colors are vibrant and so bold. I'm really loving this palette. I don't wear colors like these on a daily basis, so this is a special occasion type palette, (for me, anyway).
In fine print on the back of the palette, which I didn’t even see until I was grabbing size information, is the following: “Warning: Slowburn, Savage, Jilted, and Urban are not intended for the immediate eye area.” It’s not surprising to see such a warning, given that neon pigments, generally, have not been tested or approved by FDA for use on the “immediate eye area.” If you are already sensitive to red or pink eyeshadows, you should definitely heed the warning, as they all have a pink/red tinge. Neon pigments are often approved in the EU and Canada but not in the U.S., though it could be another ingredient that isn’t approved for usage on the eye (will be curious if UK/Canadian palettes have the same warning on the back). As always, use at your own discretion and risk. I am not a cosmetic scientist or medical professional. I have shown all four of those shades applied as blushes–be careful with shades like Jilted and Urban, as that frosted finish coupled with the intense pigmentation means a little goes a long, long way.
URBAN DECAY NAKED 3:
THIS CAN BE MY EVERY DAY GO TO PALETTE. It;s easy to wear and the colors are so pink and neutral that they compliment just about every skin tone. I now have al # NAKED palettes. I just adore them. Every makeup lover should own the Naked palettes.
Do you ladies like these palettes? If so what do you think of them?
