Ipsy Glam Bag : Street Style :: September 2014

Pacifica Natural Waterproof eye pencil in “Fringe (mini pencil) : I love Pacifica’s body care products, appreciate the all natural ingredients and was pretty surprised when this pencil did, indeed, glide on very smoothly. The color payoff is also very good. The shade “Fringe” is a universal chocolate brown shade, unlike anything I currently have. Is this pencil waterproof? Heck no, it is not. A swatch on the back of my hand easily came off with a tiny bit of water after I let the eyeliner set in a few minutes. Boo.

The very first thing I did was swatch and try on the Art Touch tinted lip gloss in Cailyn. This is a color I’ve been looking for this season. It’s not nearly as dark on as it looks in the tube. It’s a beautiful berry color that seems to have a bit of staying power.

Crown Brush Infinity Shadow/Crease Duet Brush : I am a makeup brush addict and this was a nice surprise! I think I’ve only received one brush from Ipsy before, and the quality was much lower than this one. I have yet to use it, but it feels soft and after messing with it a bit, shedding seems minimal. The crease tip is a unique pointed dome shape that I haven’t tried before so I’m looking forward to using it.

I’m interested to try the Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser. The packaging says it is 100% Natural, USDA-certified Organic and is also “Chemical Free, Cruelty Free, Concern Free.” It contains Aloe Vera, Cucumber, and Watercress. This seems like something that will be great for my skin when it’s dry in the winter.

The next product I was excited to try was the Mitchell and Peach hand lotion. I love getting travel sized hand creams in boxes so I can keep them in my purse. The scent is called “Flora No. 1″ and it doesn’t exactly smell floral to me. The lotion itself is decently moisturizing, which is ultimately what I look for in a lotion so it will definitely find a place in my purse.

MCM Ft: Too Faced Melted

Hello Dolls,

This weeks MCM (makeup crush Monday) features Too Faced Melted liquified long wear lipstick in Berry.

It has the smoothest, most velvity texture. It glides on beautifully. The intensity of this color amazing. It's more of a lip stain. It has a sponge line applicator and requires a few squeezes to get it out. But becareful you don't want to squeeze to hard and lose too much product. I can't say enough about this lipstick. My only regret is that I didn't get more of them. I will definitely hit up Sephora or Ulta and pick up all of them, jiji.

Have you tried them, if so, which did you pick up?

Foundations, Foundations, Foundations

Hello Dolls,

Yes, you all know I love makeup. Here are my favorite foundations, no intervention needed, thank you! From drug store to high end. I don’t discriminate.

My favorite drug store foundations are L’Oreal True Match, Maybelline Fit Me & Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse. These run from $8-$12. For high end foundations I love Benefit Hello flawless $36, Makeup Forever HD Foundation $42 and finally Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation, this one is the most expensive foundation I own, being $50. Each one of you may think I’m nuts but every foundation is different. In that it gives me a different type of glow & complexion. Searching for the right foundation can give a girl anxiety. But it doesn’t have to. Get the one that’s closet to your skin color and if it doesn’t work, TAKE IT BACK and find one the suits you. Play around with it. Start with a small amount and build up. For most foundations a little goes a long way. You may also have to purchase two different shades and mix them together to create the right one for you. Try you local Walgreens or CVS. Don’t knock drug store makeup ‘til you’ve rocked a drug store makeup. When applying a liquid foundation, I like to use a beauty blender or a flat brush. For foundations that are medium coverage I like to use my fingers to spread it around. ALWAYS remember, you face and neck should NEVER be two different shades. Make sure you have good lighting. If the lighting is bad it may make your makeup look good, when in reality it’s not blended right or doesn’t match your skin color. -Happy hunting Ladies!
