March In Instagram (2016)

Hello loves,

Happy last day of March. March has come and gone. It was pretty great. Here are a few of my highlights in a review. Hope you enjoy!

1. Mamas got a brand new bag. Haha. I found this beautiful authentic "pre-loved" Louis Vuitton messenger bag in Damier Geant. I love it. I use it everyday for work. I'm a fan of YouTuber Kristina Bee, or better known as PrettyShinySparkly. She showed this bag in a YouTube video "What's in my work bag" and I fell in love with it. So the hunt began. I spoke to a women in Facebook page for Louis Vuitton who was selling it. It is a little beat up, but the canvas was in good shape, no rips in the bag at all. The vachetta has a pretty patina color.
2. Work has been crazy. We have been so busy with procedures. I do love to do procedures but ahhhh, haha. Sometimes it gets very hectic and tiring.
3. I'm still learning and playing with makeup. I love it.
4. I was tagged with on Instagram to show my favorite trio of SLGs. It was a fun tag. Hop on over and see what why these are my favorites.
5. A got a few new pens for my agenda. I love them. I don't really care for gel pens, I have chicken scratch writing and gel pens really show it ;-) but these aren't too bad and don't bleed.
6. Easter. I didn't do much this Easter. My girls were with there father and my husband had to work, so I was home  alone. I did end up having company. My sisters and mother stopped by, but we just had pizza and chocolates, haha.
7. I was really excited to do a review and comparison on these two mascaras. I did a YouTube video. Please check out my channel for the video. YouTube.com/missgeeklychic
8. I was just realllllyyyyy feeling my makeup. I'm telling y'all I'm learning. ;-)
9. I'm stepping out of my comfort zone with candy :-) this was pretty good. Have you tried a York peppermint patty? It's tasty.

Battle of the Mascaras: Maybelline vs. TooFaced

Hi Loves,

Today I wanted to have a bit of makeup wars between two of my very favorite mascaras.

I realized I am putting a drugstore mascara vs. a high end mascara. I'm doing this because these are the two that I have been using for the longest and decided to put them up against each other. So here goes...

The first is Maybelline Lash Sensational vs. TooFaced Better Than Sex. As you are well aware, Maybelline is a drugstore brand, affordable to all coming in at around $10, TooFaced is a bit more high end and can be a bit pricey, but it's not super expensive, this one runs in at about $23 and can be purchased at beauty stores Ulta & Sephora and direct from the TooFaced website.

The mascara tubing is about the same in length, but the Maybelline is a chunky tube.

The Maybelline wand is curved, and doesn't have the traditional hairs or brissels. This style claims to be that way to curl your lashes without actually curling them.

The TooFaced wand is more of a coke bottle shape (at least to me that's how it looks).

I'm going to test these bad boys against each other. I'm going to do just a single stroke and see if there is any difference.

As you can see I have no lashes, haha. They are very short and light. I need all volumous mascara I can get.

TooFaced Better Than Sex:

One stroke didn't do much.

Maybelline Lash Sensational:

The results:

Ok, I think I'm siding with Maybelline on this one. I understand if you think, well hey, you just did one stroke how is that fair? Well that's how I wanted to test them. The one stroke test. With one stroke I believe Maybelline instantly made my lashes actually appear and gave them a little lift but I think I still need to curl them. It looks like I have lashes. The TooFaced, it gave me color but not as much visibility at one stroke. I think it would take a few strokes to achieve what Maybelline did in one.

Conclusion:

I love both mascaras. I will continue to use both, but I think TooFaced will sit on the bench (my vanity) more often than Maybelline.

Spring in lipsticks

Hello Loves,

I walked into Walgreen's yesterday and stopped dead in my tracks. These pretty pink tubes caught my eyes. I'm a sucker for pink and pretty packaging. They were the Maybellibe ColorSenational lipsticks.

I couldn't believe how gorgeous they are. I seriously wanted all of them.

I starting to play around with them. These shades are perfect and right in time for spring.

I settled on three... For now.

Umm...can we say gorgeous!!

I've never really been a lipstick kinda girl until a few years ago. Now, I just can't seem to get enough. I would pretty much keep it safe with pretty neutrals, maybe a red and pop of pink. I always thought my skin tone was too, umm, I don't know the right word to describe it, but I just didn't think "outrageous" shades suited me very well.

I grew up where the rules of makeup were, if your eye makeup is heavy or dark, you go very light on the lips and vice versa. The only expection was black eyeliner always goes with red lipstick.
My oh my, how times have changed.
And man it is so much fun. WHO cares about your skin tone/color. Makeup is suppose to be fun, and I like to have fun. I for one know I buy a lot of makeup so why keep it boring and simple?

The Maybelline Colorsenasation collection is just that. Fun.

The purple really caught my eye. Truly stepping out of my comfort zone here.

Here are a few swatches...

From top to bottom

•705 is a pretty pink shade, with a hint of nude.

•735 is a blood orange shade, with a hint of red. gorgeous.

•730 is a pretty lavender. This is the one that really caught my eyes and is the one that I decided to be bold and daring this spring.

Which shade did you like? Have you picked up any of the Maybelline Colorsensations?

Louis Vuitton Agenda MM - My Set Up

Hello Loves,

I'm so excited to share with you lovelies my planner. Here I present my Louis Vuitton Medium Agenda (MM) in the monogram print. I never leave home without her. I use her to keep track of my girls schedule, my husbands work schedule and to keep track of my blog and youtube channel. I don't need it so much for work because I have a pretty set schedule M-F.

I've been a planner/agenda girl since high school. I love planners. I used to use those awesome target planners. They tend to run from $10-$30. From Target I went to the Erin Condren life planners. I absolutely loved her planners.

Now I'm into the Louis Vuitton planners. It's an investment piece that I will cherish as long as I have her. I have two other agendas. They are the small (PM) size, in the monogram and multicolor noir prints. I can review those for you if you like?

Anyway, let's go on...

I bought her preloved from the Facebook Louis Vuitton Planner Party group.

This dash board was custom made for me. I will link the shop below.

The same shop made me this year at a glance calendar.

My inserts are from AmyJaz designs.com I absolutely love them.

I use these pens for my planner. I got them from Amazon. I'll put the link down below.

Nyx cosmetics: Soft Matte Lip Cream

Hello Loves,

I know I have reviewed these lippies before, but I love them so much I purchased more and use them almost daily.

These are my top six favorite lippies.

1. San Paulo
2. Prague
3. Addis Ababa
4. Ibiza
5. Monte Carlo
6. Copenhagen

Prague is my top absolute favorite one. I swear I have purchased it four times. I'm actually running low and need to hit up Ulta ASAP. Tehehe. Copenhagen is another favorite and hard to find. It's the purple one. Perfect for fall.
I do have a medium skin tone with yellow undertones.

They glide on smoothly and are long lasting. They are matte so they do tend to be a little drying. Be sure to use a lip balm before applying the lip cream.

I purchased mine at Ulta, they usually run about $6. I have seen them at Target also, but their supply is usually lousy. They don't keep many in stock so they tend to run out quickly.

Have you used any? Which is your favorite?
